This position is responsible for leading the development, management, and optimization of our Snowflake data lake using DBT (Data Build Tool). Ensures data quality, oversees governance, and transformation standards for the company’s performance analytics database which supports the ACO healthcare analytics and business intelligence applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud data architecture, analytic data engineering, and healthcare data used for quality, healthcare cost analysis and risk management. Must have experience configuring and managing data pipelines and bringing analytical data models to scale.

This position requires that you reside in or are relocating to Arizona.  Position is remote but does require some time in the office.


Essential Duties:
  • Lead Data Lake Data File Management: Manage and oversee data ingestion, transformation, and organization within our Snowflake data lake.
  • DBT Model Management: Design, build, and maintain modular and scalable DBT models (SQL and Jinja), following software engineering best practices.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Chair Data Governance Committee and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness through validations, audits, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with data and analytics engineers, analytics, payers, and participating network health centers to manage various data files that are ingested into the data warehouse, gather quality and cost reporting requirements and translate them into actionable data models and processes.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve Snowflake query performance and storage efficiency.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Implement Git-based workflows and automated testing for DBT projects.
  • Manage Data Loads: Load and manage structured & semi-structured data (JSON, ORC, Parquet).
  • Generative AI (gen AI) and large language models (LLMs): Manage unstructured data and collaborate on integrating generative AI applications using fully managed LLMs, RAG and text-to-SQL services.
  • Manage User Access and Authentication: Manage users including licenses, network vendor services SQL and REST API interfaces.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for data sources, data models and data relationships, and transformation logic.
  • Security & Compliance: Oversee ACO cybersecurity and HIPPA compliance and data security for the ACO and data privacy protocols.

Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management or analytics engineering roles.
  • Proven strong proficiency with Snowflake and DBT.
  • Solid experience with SQL, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data lake architecture, data warehousing concepts, and ELT workflows.
  • Understanding of data governance, data lineage, and metadata management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Fivetran, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Python or scripting skills for automation and orchestration.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Asana.
  • Experience with Microsoft office software applications.
